Keys to wearing a white jacket
We SAY we worry about getting it dirty but you know that's not why. Forget the food spillage and spotting, we really just want to avoid getting harpooned while topping the whale charts. White tends to make things look bigger and, of course, dark shrinks. (That's the whole idea behind highlighting and contouring your make up!)
But, Darlings, you can't be different just like everyone else. (Don't question this. I'm not here to argue.) Yet, you don't want to end up looking clownish either. What to do... ?
You dazzle, that's what you do. What I mean is that you use the bright or the pretty or the extravagant to draw the eye to that portion of the ensemble. Human nature, (being what it is) is drawn to the unusual. The more attractive, the better. (much better than the oddly macabre, unless you're my friend, Julee, who makes macabre look like diamonds mounted on a champagne glass. It's amazing.)
We're just scared of light clothes but just stop being timid and OWN it! Tame it. Make it yours. This is my white double-breasted, long-line jacket. Spring is chilly this year so a jacket is in order but I've paired it with aqua, turquoise, and gold. The splashes help the piece make a statement and they draw the eye. I've got three different pants I'll wear with this, white jeans, dark jeans, white culottes, and a beautiful pair of white palazzos. Here are some choices with Sundance. (I love their stuff so much!) I also include a selection from Amazon so there will be something for everyone.
